kevip6 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I've been a few times and love the place! I posted some photos on this previous thread: http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/104505-iceland/ I've been in the winter for the light show and also in the summer for 24hrs of daylight and it's an amazing place any time. Very very isolated if you travel outside of the main Reykjavik area so be careful! Quote
Sparkymart Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 Some lovely photos.. Still trying to get decent flights the flights back to Bristol leaves Iceland around 6am so I lose a day might need to look at a London Airport but I then lose a day travelling up from Cornwall. Thinking now maybe going in the Christmas holidays Quote
dhutch Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Not done Iceland (shop or country) but I have been to lapish Finland. Enontekio to be exact, 200km inside the artic circle. Loved it, got out there on a freeby with a friend who was working their self half to death as a guide, for a week just as it was snowing for the first time helping get the husky farm ready, and then again when the snow was down. Great fun, dog sleds are awesome, snow mobiles are ruddy ace, -40c isnt that cold with the right gear. Daniel Quote
