one invoice (June 2000) for Avons I got (from the previous owner) supplied by BMTR reads

7.0/22x13   @  £120 each

9.2/22x13   @  £144 each

these are A45 (sticky hillclimb compund for 'light' cars) cut to WET chevron pattern

also another invoice (May 2001) for 7.0/21x13 slicks (A40 compound, not quite so sticky)   @ £117 each

BTW:  'been used once' can mean a lot of different things....was it 5 laps trying them out or 2 hours thrashing round a track?     ???    as always    CAVEAT EMPTOR   ;)

Ex race rubber should be about £10 a tyre.

but you nead to check the age and amount of rubber left.

The newer they are the more money..

Bit steep in the ££ department.

I nearly bought 100 of this size, but the examples given to me to check were in a quite poor state despite having been used 'a little' Prices should be between £5 and £20.

ideal compound for slicks on a westy for sprints and hills is

( avon )A39 front and rears ,A45 is to soft ,i know i tried them ,hoosiers R25 compound allround they will tell you R23 for front but that's to soft ,been there got the T shirt  :D

SteveD, the sets actually advertised mention 'medium to hard' in the text I found on racecar.co.uk so they would probably be OK for a Westfield at a guess but they are expensive for used tyres.....

the A45 compound tyres I've got are cut as wets and are for a 300kg/200bhp single seater but I've yet to have a wet hillclimb meeting with it so can't say if they're any good or not though the car won the last round of the 2001 CCC Sprint Championship at Curborough on them    :D  (not in my hands though)  :t-up:

my slicks are A40 compound and stick like S*** to a blanket - or have done so far  ;)

A45 compound is ok for the front for when the ground is very cold or as you say cut as wets  ,it's hard to say if medium or hard will do for a westy you need to know the exact compound,+ buying secondhand is not the best way you need to know how old they are where they have been stored if the car has sat on them over winter or for any period of time as they tend to flat spot very easy ,if's and but's lots of em  ;) if your unsure buy new its not cheap but at least you know where they come from and the history  :0 it's peace of mind ;)

They could be c******m SLR ones (A37 compound). They are changing the sizes for next year so there might be a lot around. As everyone has said, check the amount of use and the age (they only last about 1 year). You can ring Avon with the code number to find out exacly what they are.

You may need wider arches at the rear if you run the 9" and you will need to change tha camber settings on your car (unless you are already running ACB10s)
