kimptos Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Having replaced my factory Omex ECU with an AEM Infinity II I have the original unit for sale, along with harness and applicable sensors. ECU has been reflashed by Omex to be accessible, so you can alter mapping, parameters etc. to your heart's delight using the MAP4000 software downloaded from the Omex website. As new, only 1,500 miles on the car. Price is negotiable, but direct from the factory it is £1,261.71, so no silly offers, as I have just spent significantly more than that on the AEM unit and tuning . . .
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 It's a 630, they're a special model that Omex sells to manufacturers like Westfield (and some well known names form the specialist car and motorbike world). That's why as standard, users couldn't access the settings on them, only Omex. In terms of its internal spec, their based around the processor etc of the 710, but in the casework of the 620 series and with a reduced I/O count. I hope Steve doesn't mind me mentioning, this ecu has been unlocked, so can have fuel and ignition etc remapped to suit your individual engine. However it needs to be understood that these Westfield supplied Omex S2000 ecu's have hardware and firmware mods to make them compatible with the Honda F20C engine. You cannot re map them for a different engine, they require the input signals from both an F20C pattern crank position sensor and (exhaust) cam position sensor to work, and cannot be reprogrammed for other sensors. They make a cracking ecu for the Honda engine though and work with the Honda's original throttle body and idle control motor etc to give a proper production car feel to the Westfield driving experience, or can be reprogrammed for individual throttle bodies etc. 1
kimptos Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 Thanks Dave - I had said in the thread title that it is an ECU for the Mega 2000, but your input, as always, is to the point and informative! It's worth pointing out that Omex has only just started to offer unlocked ECUs to owners of Mega S2000s, they have not made all parameters available, but there is a lot that is available to fine tune and monitor the engine's performance. The reason I changed was because of specific requirements regarding sensors I wanted to add to control the engine given the climate and fuel quality available here in Arizona, as well as the fact that my engine is a hybrid (or Frankenstein's monster) F22C/F20C, which caused a little complication in the mapping. 3
CosKev Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Perhaps give Westfield a call and see if they would be interested in it?
kimptos Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 I doubt it, given it has already been installed and used
CosKev Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I doubt it, given it has already been installed and usedI'm not saying they would sell it on as brand new!!! But if it's working and as new condition I'm sure they will have more chance of selling it with a kit or using it in a build than you have of selling it privately
netwrk Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Steve, I may be interested. Can you give me some details of the harness and sensors included in the sale. I have an F20c in a westfield running the Honda ecu. However I also have a spare (f20c) motor and would like to fit it in another project and your Omex sounds like it may suit. Thanks, Tom
