Terry Everall Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Looking at getting a portable CADAC gas BBQ for the motorhome which has an external cal or gas supply I wondered about the CADAC safari chef 2 (LP) Any ideas or comments? Quote
Kit Car Electronics and Essex AO Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 this is turning into a camping forum I have a Cadac Safari Chef for external gas supply and find it perfect, although it definitely hasn't made me into a chef. The size makes it easy to wash up, too. Quote
Kevin (Mr T) Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I could build you one like this, you'd just need to find space for a few sacks of lumpwood......and the BBQ! :d Quote
mark.anson Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Have you got an external gas tap to plug it into Terry. I've got one. Not got round to using it yet. Quote
Terry Everall Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Mark I do have an external gas supply point to use Quote
Lawrie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I've got a Mk 1 but have only used it a couple of times, as if used as a barbeque, it looks like it'll get messy. Generally very well made, and as a gas ring or griddle, the mess shouldn't be a problem Quote
Mark Stanton Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 They're a cracking piece of kit  Quote
DamperMan Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Safari chef is great and we take it everyware in the camper. The taste is good to decent vaporiser . . On the back of that I bought a carri chef for home but it didn't give a good BBQ flavour. Sold it for £10 less than I bought for and bought a weber q, very good although could do with a vaporizor.. Very easy to clean also. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 How many times will you use it Terry? For the price of one its a hell of a lot of disposables :-) Quote
Terry Everall Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 I do hate those disposable BBQs ! Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I do hate those disposable BBQs ! Much easier than cleaning ./ washing a gas one before you put it back in your pride and joy to drive home (unless you have belly lockers :-) ) Quote
Onliest Smeg David Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I do hate those disposable BBQs ! And they're not as virsatile as something like the Cadacs which can be used like a normal hob as well as bbq Quote
