stephenh Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Anyone else having problems with using Google Chrome as a browser at the moment? My desktop link has stopped working, and when I tried to download Google Chrome it is not responding. Quote
Onliest Smeg David Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 No problem here with Chrome, on Windows or Android Quote
stephenh Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 What seems to have happened is that my computer has been "hijacked" by something called MSN. Aren't they the cowboy outfit that runs Hotmail? If so, I think I will need to get my computer service engineer to remove it as I believe it is notorious for blocking its competitors' sites, and is difficult for a non-computer person like me to get rid of. stephenh Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 Well, Windows 10 seems to have solved part of my problem, in that the Google Chrome desktop link now works, although the Internet Explorer link still takes me direct to MSN UK rather than the Explorer page. I think I'd still like to restore the Explorer page, but having 'Chrome back is a major improvement. Quote
CraigHew Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Is it just a case of resetting your home page link in the settings? I appreciate this may sound daunting but it's fairly easy. There are quite a few sneaky programs that will try to change your home page, usually without your consent if you don't notice them when clicking on stuff. It's fairly easy to revert back. Quote
