CraigHew Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 After 2 years of Westfield ownership, Mrs H plucked up the courage for her first passenger ride at the weekend. To be fair, after a horrific RTA back in 2007, she's not the most confident of passengers. However she did insist. Being a responsible husband I kept things very sensible, even suggested she wear goggles over her sunglasses for safety. Anyway, she wasn't too impressed as her hair just went ballistic. Perhaps I should buy her a WSCC headscarf for Xmas??? 4 Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 What about a beanie hat..... Or shave her head. 1 Quote
BenD Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 i think its a wife/partner thing. my wife inisited once mine was registered that she would come with me for a short blat like you kept it sensible. she hasnt been in it since and probarbly never will again so i have to go everywhere on my own. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Did she complain about you driving on the wrong side of the road ? 2 Quote
Onliest Smeg David Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Wendz wasn't at all keen either... Until she drove on a track day (@Curborough) Since then happier driving on road and being a passenger, & has done 3 more track days. Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I found with Carol that as long as she was warm and I had the side screens on then she would accompany me all the time. Quote
BenD Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 bearing in mind though i have an aeroscreen and no carpets so isnt exactly a tourer Quote
SootySport Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 What is it with women? I like the 'wind in the hair'motoring Quote
Olliebeak Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 An Ena Sharples (remember her) hairnet would do the job, I agree about the sidescreens. Quote
John Williams (Panda) - Joint Manchester AO Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 mrs panda is not a fan.... kids are though! Quote
Andy (Sycho) Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 In my last car with windsreen & doors (before kids) the wife went everywhere, she's been out once in this one with areoscreen etc. I took it steady & asked why didn't over take everything in sight! (This was after a couple drinks) you can't please some women. I think she would go out in it more but it's difficult with kids! Quote
Davep1 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 This vid made me chuckle... (Warning - Caterham content..!) 1 Quote
Yanto Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 My Mrs went in my stripped out aeroscreened car once, until we hit 17 mph, at that point she'd had enough! Although, she has actually said she will accompany me to a pub on Saturday (as compensation for me not going to Silverstone? no I can't work that logic out), as long as I pay and i don't go over 30 mph - the pub in question is about 7 miles away, it's going to be a long drive there and back.
