Email confirmation from the web site - Not working, needs to be improved

Needed more pens for signing on.

Needed more PA's working to help the Paddock Team

Noise limits need addressing as we had 2 different numbers  for the track day (my fault- Already Fixed)

Hope Float bar (brilliant)

Curfews (need examining)

The cake stand - really like; thank you

We need to advertise this also as a social.....

Early Bird Offer, did it help?

For those that haven't met me do I look like a panda?

A few minor thoughts.

I would look at the running order of the single seaters as the driver change was taking a long time.  Maybe not have them running last.

I think it would be useful to have a defined list of helpers that you need similar to Stoneleigh and put names to it a few weeks or so in advance.

If allowed I would start earlier on the Sunday as almost everyone is on site from Saturday

There were some comments on uphillracers as to whether the event was happening this year so maybe look to email previous entrants.  I would have a loyalty rather than just early bird discount perhaps?

Put cars (Mod Prod and Race cars) in an area of good/new paddock tarmac.

Scrutineer - very good and did my log book with no fuss and excellent communications

Earlier start on Sunday is a good idea.

Paddock marshaling was good - I was released from the paddock and had little waiting time but never did I see the start line empty other than...

Slicker/continuous flow from one run to the next (but possibly this was because of single seat double drivers - so as David says run them earlier (e.g. put the Lotus championship last?)

Why did we need to do the next of kin bit as a paper exercise - use the website to collect and our signing on signature as the signature (other events where we enter online we don't have sign twice. e.g. MAC).

2 courses (different on each day) is good.

"For those that haven't met me do I look like a panda?".........  If they haven't met you then how would they know if you look like a panda or not?

Questions

Scrutineers -

No problems with myself... but, adviced me placing a rigid piece of metal behind my head. They told me about "instructing rather than banning"... I'm not sure if I want it this rigid metal behind my head. MY engineering mind  would like to see some crash tests and a risk assestmen TBH.

Car park Layout -

Brilliant. My car was in a posh, nice, new, clean and flat tarmac... please, next year, same spot for me.

Eastern Circuit for afternoon on Friday and sunday?

As I´m limited in experience... I like to repeat twice rather than change the layout.

Early Bird Offer, did it help?

You should tell us this... did you see a great flow of entrants during the early bird?

For those that haven't met me do I look like a panda?

Pandas are probably under sized and not that funny against you...

I´ve never seen a panda with a cowboy hat.

Cheers.

Maurici.

Just a couple of observations.

As Paul says Singke seater and other slick cars on the new smooth Tarmac please. This would reduce time messing about cleaning slicks after a run so less excuses for not being ready for a run.

Very few of the electric hook ups could be used as tents had been pitched against the building.

If possible signing on the night before would be good. ( I know this was planned this year but stuff had to be checked out first)

Gluten free meal great.

Scrutineers were good no issues here but had a scare with the noise meter.

Great event despite the weather.

I can only comment as a bystander as I was there helping rather than competing but:-

Usual great comradary amongst WSCC crowd throughout the weekend

Well organised by JW and his team

Paddock marshalls were great and came and rounded up competitors at the appropriate time

Event flowed well apart (from stoppages for offs and rain)given the amount of entries.

If the event was turned into a double lapper would this help with the amount of cars on track at once and speed up timed runs thus giving more? My poor head cant reconcile it.

Mod prod cars / cars with sticky tyres / slicks should really have been on the newer tarmac area of the paddock. I understand why the layout was like it was though as the road going cars need to run first in each run

Saturday evening food needs announcing more in advance so it can be given consideration

Place links to the online entry system in more places as people on other forums were struggling to find them for other championships

Investigate if a portaloo could be placed at the top end of the paddock as its one hell of a trek to the toilet block from the far end

Don't finish timed runs at 3:30 on Sunday. I know this was the CoC's decision but it was not popular amongst competitors, but as some championships only have 2 timed runs count (eg HSA and Service Hydraulics) for their championship some competitors will not partake in further runs any way thus reducing the amount who would take them and therefore reduce the time to complete another run.

and most importantly I reckon you look more like Peter Kay than a Panda

With single seaters on the new Tarmac its nearer to the start line so fewer potential overheating issues. I had to turn off my engine on a couple of occasions making re starting a pain. Don't think I delayed anyone as I pulled over out of the way but then got out of number sequence.

Echo all that JL says. Paddock marshals very good.

I don't know if the paddock tannoy system was working and if so was it being used to pre-warn competitors when their class was about to be called to join the line for the start. If not, maybe consider using it in the future.

I think the single seaters should be nearer the startline. Did the paddock marshalls get the first of double drives out at the beginning of the relevant class? I'm not sure as on the startline you don't really have time to look at such things. It is important to minimise driver changes from holding up the smooth running of the event, particularly the last class to run, whether that be single seaters or any other class.

Yes you do look a bit like a panda, just like Peter Kay does!

Oh, and I hope to help again next year! :t-up:  :t-up:
