Tim Reid
2x Nearly new Toyo 888 GGG (soft) 5mm in 205/50/15 2x very good Toyo 888 GG (medium) 4mm in 205/50/15 These tyres are 6mm when brand new. Used for mostly road miles. The combination of softs on the front and mediums on the rear gives a great controllable feel. The four tyres would set you back £500. Now on eBay in pairs: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm?itemId=262577952940 And http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Toyo-R888-GGG-Trackday-Tyres-205-50-15-lots-of-life-left-/262577946865?nav=SELLING_ACTIVE I'm near Reading Berkshire but can post. Man On The Clapham Omnibus
Tim, As I said on your wheel post before I spotted this one, I could be interested in the tyres if mine are compatible wheels. I'll check when I can and let you know asap. Thanks. p.s. I'm just north of High Wycombe so I'd collect.
Tim Reid
Hi, that would work out well as we could meet a tyre place and get them swapped over from my rims to yours then spilt the cost. I think that would work out cheaper for both of us instead of me getting the tyres removed and you getting them fitted separately.
Man On The Clapham Omnibus
Okay Tim, That sounds sensible. I have family here this weekend so might not be able to look today. I shall try though.
Tim Reid
For reference, Toyo approved rim widths are 5.5 to 7.5 with a recommended width of 6.5. http://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/pattern/proxes-r888 Then click on specifications.
Man On The Clapham Omnibus
Thanks Tim, I have to admit that I'm tempted by the Nankang NS-2R as an alternative. I think I'll probably opt for those for a somewhat lower cost. My usage at the moment is low and I need road tyres that are track compatible rather than track tyres that I can use on the road. Please follow up any other lines of enquiry without thought for my interest. I apologise for wasting your time. Thank you, Clive (M.O.T.C.O.)
