adhawkins Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 Anyone got any idea if these would be OK on a 'standard' factory built SEiW (currently with 15" wheels)? If they are a bolt on replacement, then I'm interested. Can you e-mail me some pics? Ta. Andy
peterrosey Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 Andy Pretty sure they'll fit at the rear with no problems, the only issue is the front cycle wings - with 205/60s the outer edge of the tyre just clips the edge of the arch on mine. With narrower tyres (185/60) this would probably not be a problem. Either that or I have unusually narrow cycle wings... Erm... how do I email you pics (they're not on a webpage)... Peter R
gregh Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 wot's the offset? to email pics from your email client choose insert file, or copy and paste, or drag n drop! greg
peterrosey Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 Don't know what the offset is, but the measurement from the back face of the wheel to the back face of the hub is 100-110mm. They're the normal RWD Ford offset so they should fit most Westies - just the cycle wing issue to be aware of (no problems with swept wings). I suspect my car may have 185 width cycle wings rather than 205-sized versions (?).
peterrosey Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 Pics of wheels as promised - thanks FW for the offset info.
adhawkins Posted April 5, 2003 Author Posted April 5, 2003 I might be interested in these Peter, might be able to get someone to pick them up for me. I'll have a (quick) think and let you know. Andy
peterrosey Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 Andy If its any use I'll be around Derbyshire S.Yorkshire from April 9-11, Lincolnshire April 15-17, Northampton April 18, Cheshire April 19... (and before anyone says 'traveller or gypo' I'm a journalist... On second thoughts, selling lucky heather and clothes pegs is probably a more highly-regarded profession!. Peter R
peterrosey Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 Still no takers at £70?! It'd cost you £100 plus to get some crusty old wheels refurbished and these are fine! Someone make me an offer - I now have 13 wheels and tyres, plus 5 tyres all taking up valuable garage space...
adhawkins Posted April 6, 2003 Author Posted April 6, 2003 I'm seriously considering these. Just waiting for a confirmation that this offset is Ok for my car. Andy
