Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Club, Vale or Beckets. I'm going down on wednesday for my 40th GP in the UK. But you need to be there very early to get a good spot. Quote

lewis Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Be very early on Sunday. We got there on a GA ticket on Sunday last year and got through the gates soon after 7am and the campers had put the chairs down on all the viewing spots on the corners so we were stuck viewing from the Wellington Straight. I think gates open at 6am but there is a queue before that. Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Back in the day when I couldn't afford grandstand seats we would start to queue at teatime on Saturday yes we were that mad we would take it in turns throughout the night to keep our place in the queue, as soon as the gates opened at 5am we would have two sprinters with a couple of lightweight camping chairs apiece, they would dash to our pre arranged spot, the rest of us would follow up with more chairs, cool boxes etc, boy it was fun When it was at Brands Hatch in the 70s we would set off at midnight, arrive at the Paddock bend entrance at about 4.30am and join the queue, then when the gates opened it was the same routine with sprinters and load carriers Quote
