Haldex controllers are being re-furbed,   http://www.autofaultfinder.com/index-9.html. A few Audi forum use this repairer.

If the key doesn't work after a new battery,  look up re-synching VW keys on Google.  Failing that it's a trip to a independent VW/Audi remote key specialist, of which there is a few around now.

Thanks for the link Bernie, just a shame that its a GEN1 Haldex which currently they don't repair I also need to get it connected to the VAGCOM first before I spend out on any parts. That should then confirm my suspicions as to what needs to be changed.

That's a shame Mark,   maybe worth getting on http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/  and mingle with the TT folk for a solution.
