Hi all I'm introducing myself since re joining after a 13 year break! I originally joined in 1999 when aged 21 I bought my 1800 Zetec kit. I completed and SVA'd this in 2001 and then sold it in 2003 to buy our first house. The car is still with that owner in Northern Ireland. Since then I've married, had 3 boys, built our house and most importantly the Garage.

I've been browsing this site for a few months catching up with the changes and current specs etc. The itch has returned and I've scratched it!!

Last week an seiw appeared on a well known auction site that was an un started build. It had navy bodywork, detachable arches, cycle wings, V8 bonnet, ducted nose, locking boot lid, aluminium uprights, front and rear brakes and lots of smaller items at a price I could not resist. After a trip to Cheshire this is now safely in Cornwall ready for building.

On our way home me and my son popped into the factory to have a look and find out what engine and gearbox combo would be best. After speaking to Mark it was decided that a 2.0 Zetec with type 9 would be most suitable. I must say the factory was a shadow of my first visit in 1999! Very quite.

Any way enough rambling the build will shortly commence, with pictures assisted by my 3 apprentice's who are very excited. No doubt questions will be posted which judging by what I've seen will be easily answered.

I can't wait to start and sit behind the wheel once more even the wife seems happy!!

I'll forgive you for your 13 year break.  House, wife, 3 sprogs and now back in a  :db-westy: , life can't get much better for you.

Enjoy all you have worked for.   Regards from Bernie in the beautiful South.
