GoPro Hero4 Mount?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Thinking of buying a GoPro Hero4 and was wondering what's the best rollbar mount to buy  -  are 'cheap' Chinese mounts any good or do I have to buy an expensive one?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Roger,

I bought this genuine one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001MS6OM2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's rubber lined and works well on my 45mm diameter RAC roll boar.

I use

with a cheap metal ball head camera mount.

Although not cheapest option Very sturdy and versatile, clamping to many places on roll bar or windscreen pillars

I bought a cheap as chips set of mounts from Ebay.  Must say the roll bar mount is superb (for the money) although just to be safe I do use a stainless steel tether...!

Cheap is fine! Make sure you get enough angle pieces to count for the varying degrees of the roll cage.

That's where the metal camera ball head comes into it's own - infinite adjustability :)

I've got a Zip-Tie style mount and it's been great.

Manfrotto mount is heavy and stable, nice big clamp with rubber lined jaws.    You can also attach all types of photo paraphnalia and a full size DSLR in the the bayonet socket or just stick a 3M Go Pro mounting pad to it.
