LiveTheDream84 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Hi fellas, I have recently acquired an early 90's Westfield which was never fully built. The majority of the work required has now been completed but I am struggling to find the following parts in order to get the car on the road, It has a 1600 Kent engine with twin 40's. 2x carburetors 1x Inlet Manifold Air Filters Could any of you point me in the direction of a good supplier for these? New or reconditioned will be fine. Cheers Andy Quote

Kevin (Mr T) Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 For the carbs, look on Ebay for a pair of40DCOE151's from Fast Road Car. I got mine for £577 a couple of months ago, which is less than my local Weber specialist can buy them for. Brand new in Webcon boxes and I had them authenticated, to make sure they weren't copies. Kevin (Mr T) Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 And make sure you get 151s. My crossflow was fitted with 40DCOEs, but they were ex-Alfa Romeo carbs and because of the way the progression holes were drilled in them, they mighty crossflow would never run properly on idle and at low revs. Quote
Kevin (Mr T) Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Here you go http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEBER-40-DCOE-151-PAIR-CARBS-CARBURETTORS-LOTUS-TWINCAM-FORD-X-FLOW-KITCARS-/201226353389?hash=item2eda067aed:g:TB0AAOSwAYtWGhyT 1 Quote
Olliebeak Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 You may want to look at bike carbs from Bogg Bros or Danste , I have twin 40 Dellortos on my 1600 crossflow and although it runs well the fuel consumption is terrible, it is the same with Webers. You could probably get bike carbs ,manifold, filters etc cheaper than Webers. Quote
