McDuff
Hi, after several month's absence, me and my Westie are back on the forum! Thanks to Tricky's help with sourcing a starter motor , and the completion of several more mods myself, I have a new MOT and am hoping to take a short holiday to East Anglia soon. 2 questions for fellow Detroit built Ford CVH 1.9L engine owners: whereabouts is the engine serial number located? Secondly, will a UK spec CVH water pump fit the US block, or does it need a US spec part? Any help always appreciated. JW
tisme
I guess there aren't many Westies with a 1.9 CVH in them ... Not at all familiar with the CVH engine but this may help? http://www.motuk.co.uk/mot_appendix_f.htm There's some info about the engine here but looks like the website is way out of date ...... http://www.specialisedengines.co.uk/cvh/dir11.html Burtons may be able to help with spares or advice http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-guides/tuning-guide-pages/ford-cvh-tuning-guide.html
Captain Colonial
1.8l Sierra engines were based on US-spec 1905cc units and both share few components with the smaller CVH engines. You might try to see if the 1.8l water pump will fit. As for the serial number, it's usually low down on the left or right of the block, near the front. Or to be Captain Obvious here, have you looked on your V5 document?
McDuff
Hi, thanks to you both for your suggestions, at least I have a little more to go on. I seem to remember there are several 1.9L CVH owners, so maybe they will also advise if they check the forum regularly, but as you said it is a rara avis ! Cheers..................John
Captain Colonial
There's a great guy named Steve based in Canada, pretty sure he's running a 1.9 CVH, goes by the name of 7sRWild in here, drop him a PM.
