Fuel surge solution?

So it looks like from MIRA at the weekend I am suffering with the dreaded standard tank long left hand turn fuel surge issue , So I am looking for the best easiest and cost effective solution.  

 

-Usage is local blats, Trackdays and select sprints/Hillclimbs

-I will shortly be having a trailer so no longer be driving to and from events of distance

 

So far the options look like

 

-Swirl pot with another pump (Expense? )

-Demon tweeks baffle inserts into the current tank (Anyone tried this? does it work?)

-Smaller purpose tank foam and baffled

 

Interested in what other people have done with costs etc?

Probably the cheapest and easiest job will be to get a sump added to your tank along with either some baffles or tank foam.

Have you got room for a sump to be added to the bottom of your tank?

I just remembered I have a sei wide bodied tank that I had modified  with tank underneath which sits between the rails . worked fine on my car for sprints. you can try it and see if any good .if you wish .and either buy off me or get yours done  the same if ok . [modified for injection ] and has fuel level gauge

Pete that sounds fantastic !!

I had a look at mine it does have a small bowl in the left side but pretty shallow.

Any chance of bringing it to palace Pete pretty please?

yes

mine has about 2 ltr sump in the center  and center take off for dash 8 fitting

 

my memory not what it was please remind me day before

Sounds like a great solution there Dave! Did you get the breather sorted?

Also try the foam blocks I mentioned to you, I think Martin (marto303) still has a box of them - I'm sure he'd be happy to sell you a few at the next event. They made a big difference to my tank, I can now run it with just a few litres vs half a tank previously.

Car is back in a million pieces Barney :cry:  ...Have fitted a quick shift ...Seemed like an easy job to start with but left a few cosmetic issues to iron out.

 

Breather will be next once its back together , Merlin motorsport look to have plenty of options so will nip over there with the car at least I will know the new valve will fit and will be drilling a hole top of the filler.  (To be honest I have only got Crystal Palace then hopefully Pete`s tank will sort it all out)
