New Westfield Owner - Long Days Journey into Orange

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have bounced around on this forum mainly around the parts wanted and parts for sale section for the last 7 weeks. However, I thought I would just introduce myself in the Start Line section, so other would be Westy owners can also see what a new owner has done immediately after purchase.

I just negotiated the purchase of my 2001 Westy SEIW wide-body 9000 miles, full MOT and 2.0L silvertop Zetec, from a fellow member and have been changing it to suit my needs. I just thought I would start a thread on here, so people can see the journey the car has taken and maybe even take the odd tangent if anyone has any good suggestions. This is now a three quarters done car, with the finishing touches taking place over the next couple of weeks.

A little masking and the introduction of Orange....

Then a gentle jog out up the coast road in Newcastle, to see if she still works, she did. Pulled over in Jesmond, to take a picture or two...

and to finish....

This will be a little different. I now have the wide body SEIW "kit bodywork" V8 scoop and bonnet, complete with Quattraporte style side racing grills. This will be orange in about a week with the black grill work. There is also:

New Kawasaki ZZR racing mirrors to be side fitted, dual pin, for stability

Race-tech rear view mirror

OMP flat bottomed wheel in alcantara

New gear and brake gators in black leather with orange stitching

New shortened gear stick, with new aluminium ball (7) knob

New 4 inch dominator headlights

Rear arch carbon protection (probably vinyl as I have the extra wide arches and the usual Westfield ones do not fit)

I am looking for exhaust protector in chrome with holes in, but no joy so far...

The car is just up at British Sports Car Services, in Acomb, Hexham, getting a full nut and bolt check, with some carb fiddling and a new starter motor, previous one was intermittently rubbish.

Then, she should be ready for the summer....not Stoneleigh unfortunately.

I am looking for a side/bonnet decal that looks like a curvy chequered flag, or, wavy Union Jack, if anybody knows where I can get such a thing, please point me in the right direction.

Finished pictures up in the next few weeks.

Thanks
