chriss1455 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Does any one know if you hit the speed humps at Wetherby services if just getting fuel? Just trying to work out rough fuel stops for my dad down to stoneleigh on the Sunday morning, and trying to work out rough fuel stops and unsure if a westy will get over the bumps there Thanks in advance Chris Quote
TAFKARM Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 How low are you? I never ground out on bumps. Quote
chriss1455 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 I think he's about 65mm to the bottom of the hoop. He has no troubles with the bumps around the doors but I can remember the ones at Wetherby services seemed to be extra vicious Quote
chriss1455 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Yes I seem to recall that you do. Cheers Chris I thought it was the case Quote
Kingster Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I don't think they are as nasty as the ones in front of my house though! Quote
chriss1455 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 I don't think there all that far off tbh. I haven't stopped there in about 18 month so can't remember clearly Quote
Thrustyjust Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Dont know what journey you are coming down, but when I bought a Westie up there, I filled at the Shell on the A19, then Leicester Services, as Donnington was shut as I choose the motorbike grand prix Sunday to travel. No issues at all at any stop . I guess you will be heading down the M69 , so should be fine. Quote
chriss1455 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 He doesn't want massive miles (wants around 100 miles between fill ups to be safe) so Wetherby and around Leicester would have been perfect at 75 and 105 ish miles between each fill up Quote
Snappy Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Junction 22 of the M1 If you coming south bound get off at 22 come down the slip road and go around the roundabout and you will see services there just off the junction no speed bumps!! Quote
Andy - a15cro Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yes there is one before the petrol station. Quote
dhutch Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I find with care, even with a full cvh sump at about that height, I could get over basically anything if not fast. Daniel Quote
