Evening all,

I need to sort out a more permanent fix for my front number plate.  I want to go down the route of a smaller 'strip' number plate on the bottom of the nose cone under the main air intake, however this section is cut away so there's no flat surface to stick it to.

Does anyone have any bright ideas how this could be affixed here?

I use a couple of soft rubber "bobbins" to mount the plate at the top of the nose recess bit - the advantage being if you hit something lowish, the number plate just canters backwards.

Something a bit like below, although the rubber may be a bit hard on these..

Edited to add - just realised yours is cut out for airflow - but maybe you can make some right angle brackets...

I have mine secured as you suggest, just some bent l shape brackets secured to the underside of the nose cone with rivets to the nose cone. You can then drill some holes in the front of the bracket to bolt your number plate to and it just floats in front of the air intake at a height you choose. Watch ground clearance if you use a full size plate but it does fit.

I did experiment with hinges instead of brackets for flexibility but the airflow pushes it back and the police would not approve so just carry a spare number plate in case !

Cheers for the replies all - I've got a box of angled aluminium in the shed so think I'll look at making a couple of brackets up.  I like the idea of the bobbins to give it a bit of 'play' too.
