Booked the car into Plays-Kool on Tuesday for a Geo set up with Luke, picked it up today and although the seller when I bought it said it had been set up, Luke explained that it wasn't! the rear had tow-out which is bad, but it is now........but I am going to upgrade the dampers and get rid of the Good Year tyres for some Toyo R1Rs  (hopefully all before Stoneleigh).

 

While it was on the drive I decided to look at the overcooling issue and change the hoses, my RHS indicator steering wheel button was intermittent so I traced it to a bad soldered joint and rectified. I also planned on an oil change but before I drained it I discovered it had a small filter on instead of the big one I had picked up, so thats for another day now.

 

Gave it a quick wash before our run out tomorrow.

 

Ive also fitted an auxiliary outlet which I going to do a separate post for, as I think it may be of interest to others.

If your filter goes on (ie right thread , seal diameter etc etc) then a bigger filter is better than a small one

I don't think I will have the clearance but will have a better look later.

 

I also discovered that the rubber bush that held the silencer on had sheared, and due to the lateness of the day I looked for something to keep me on the road. I spotted a drum sander so stripped it down and used the rubber drum - perfect! Im getting the hang of this kit car fettling' business.

After a great little run out this morning with the two Chris's I can say that Luke has done a great job setting the geometry up. Just have an issue with intermittent brake lights now to take a look at.
