Deanspoors
Joey wasn't funny at all. I am very sceptical about this revision. It sadly looks like they've tried to emulate the late Clarkson, May and Hammond, which just won't be possible. Also have you seen the like/dislike ratio the Trailer has on youtube, that'll have someone in the BBC worried.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
I found it hard to tell from that, how the show will be. One thing I'm hugely disappointed by is how close it seems to be following the previous Clarkson era model. I'm really hoping it's just down to the editing of the clips. But I was so hoping for Top Gear V3.0 with a wholly new format/approach.
Mighty Mart
The trouble with top gear imho is that it appealed to the boy racer and lad element more than a motoring enthusiast type, which was fine by me by the way. A guy I work with is a motoring enthusiast who wanted to see more test type programs on more normal cars....this won't appeal to the mass audience that tg did imho... Personally, I think the new programme is doomed to failure if they try to emulate the old show, and it was the old shows format that made it a winner imho....so the Beeb are onto a loser... Clarkson and co will go on and be successful in whatever they do next... Might not be what peeps want to hear, but it's what's going to happen I reckon. Mart. dombanks
But they have twelvty presenters covering the broad spectrum demographic. The steering committee says it will work.
