mbakermarco Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Hi all Just about to get into the world of Westfield, and over here in Australia, Westfields and Arrows are available. I just wondered if anyone knew the history of what went on there ? Is there anything I should be aware of, or look out for ? Cheers ! Mark B Quote
Stuart Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Queensland Westfield Club says this - "In 2008, due to confusion between the Australian built Westfields and the imported UK built Westfields, the Australian manufacturer changed the name to Arrow Sports Cars". If the pictures on Arrow's website are current, though, then Arrow are using old-style body moulds. Westfield in the UK have been supplying tubs with detachable rear arches since the late '90s and the cars on Arrow's website don't have those. The Arrow ones also have the old style bonnet. You might find this useful. 1 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Ah, I wondered who/what Arrow were, I'd assumed it must be a close competitor. Quote
JulianE Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 My understanding is that Chris Smith didn't copyright Westfield as fully as it could be and so copies were made in Australia , however that is just my take on it from what I had heard but may be wrong . Quote
