Lightweightsteve Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Hi, excuse the repeated post, but I put the car up for sale in December, as I'd seen something else (which I lost). I decided to keep it for a while, did a couple of jobs and bought a few extra bits - now the other car that I fancied has come back onto the market! So, here we go again - I have for sale my Se W. (1999, MOT until June) It's an extremely well sorted car, which runs and drives beautifully (and quickly!). I also have pretty much every receipt and bill from when it was built.Spec2.0 silvertop zetec running on twin Weber 45's with Dunnell management, inlet manifold and other bitsS/s 4 branch manifold and pipe (Hayward and Scott)Spax adjustable shocksTSW alloys with almost new Toyo Proxes (Bridgestone spare)Wilwood midilite 4 pot front calipers with vented discs.English axle with Quaife lsd and rear disc conversion with drilled dics.Full wet weather gear. Westfield wind deflectorsQuick release Momo s/wheel Westfield seats with Willans harness'.Light weight rear end storm cover. Breathable full cover Full tonneau cover (needs extra poppers, as I've never fitted it)The car is finished in dark blue with black interior/carpets and is very smart, and since the last posting, I've had the nose cone painted. Bad(ish) points - there is a star crack behind the spare wheel and some chips/cracks to the front edges of the cycle wings, though they don't detract from the overall look. The red paint on the cam cover is flaky and I have a can of wrinkle red, plus new rocker gasket and s/s bolt set which will go to the new owner.£6995.00Any questions, please feel free to ask.Cheers, Steve 07730 512532
westie2.0 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Just out of interest what would you replace a Westy with I replaced mine with an Audi TT cabrio, but miss my Westy, shame yours is on a Q plate (no good for importing into Spain)
Rab (bombero) Reid Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Just out of interest what would you replace a Westy with I replaced mine with an Audi TT cabrio, but miss my Westy, shame yours is on a Q plate (no good for importing into Spain) Are you sure there's an issue with the matriculation of Q plates? I seem to recall a couple of firms on mainland Spain selling ex-UK sevens including Q plates. I know the whole process isn't as clear as in the UK (if you can call our vehicle movement system, clear! ) but I think it is possible.
westie2.0 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Hi Rob it's a nightmare, my last westy took 3 months to matriculate. It had 17 digit chassis number and was factory built in 97 so was on a R plate.Having done more research it looks like Q plates and short vin numbers can be matriculated onto Spanish plates. It's just a case of convincing the powers that be. They don't like anything out of the ordinary... Sorry for the hijack of your add.
