A new hood would come from the factory with no poppers fitted - then you can tailor the popper positioning to match the ones on the car.  If you have a standard roll bar then you definitely need the pram frame, but the hood will fit tightly over some RAC type bars without the frame I believe

 

I fit the hood when I bought the car and its a nice tight fit without any frame, however like I said, I would have to cut a hole in it to fit my head through! This hood would not suit the RAC type bar as it would put it too high leaving it short of the rear fixings.
