Mattt
Would it not be better to have a separate archive sold section for parts/cars to be moved to - as often things are sold but you can't tell until you read the thread.
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
It's best to update the thread title in full editor mode. Put the word sold in the title. That way you can see it's sold without opening the thread

Which we have made very clear in pinned posts at the top of each For Sale forum (both cars and parts): "> When you have successfully completed the sale of your car, please edit your original post and topic title (using the "Use Full Editor" option) to indicate is has been "Sold!". It can be quite a let-down for excited people with money to spend to spot their dream car for sale, only to read through a long thread and find out it's no longer available, as I'm sure you can appreciate. Marking it as "Sold!" is the polite thing to do!" http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/93985-all-car-sellers-please-read-this-before-posting-your-ad/

Captain Colonial
Not often done though! Certainly not often enough. However, the task of policing the ads every day or even week is not one anyone on the already busy Administrators or Moderators list is willing to take on. We've looked at it before and became near suicidal at the prospect. Blame the ad author, not the system.
