Valentinik
Im trying to decide on the seats to purchase from my car. The car will be used for short journeys, trackdays and hopefully in the Sprint series. I had seen a lot of people use JK composites seats in their car, i didnt intend on having any of the padding fitted so it would just be the bare grp seats i want. I had a chat with the guy from Kitspares at Race retro today and had a sit in their GRP bucket seat. I was impressed with how well built it seemed but i only had a quick look. The seats come in a matte finish instead of the gloss finish on the JK seats. The price difference is only £25 a pair so is no problem, but i wanted peoples opinions on any experience they've had with either seat. The one thing that concerned me with the JK seats being gloss is they would show scratches more than the matte finish. Does anyone who has them know if this is the case? Thanks Mike
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Hi Mike. My JK seats do have visible scratches but they are unbelievably comfortable and supportive. I do have the pads so not sure how much they would be scratched without the pads. I would struggle to recommend any other seat as the ones I have in my opinion could not be bettered for comfort. Thanks for that geoffrey, the kit spares seat i sat in earlier felt very comfortable and fitted me and my wife perfectly. I'm yet to sit in a JK seat to compare to though. Rory's Dad
The backs on mine are OK but the seats are badly scratched. Mind you I have to stand on them on my way in or out. I'm not that bothered but some foam padding would cover it. Yoga mat is a cheap solution!
Onliest Smeg David
IMO When I last saw the kits pares GRP seats they seemed much more flexible (not as eigid) than the JK which ended up going for.

Valentinik
Thanks for the info everyone, i'l have to see if i can sit in a JK seat to test them out. For those unsure of the kitspares seats. These were the ones i was looking at: http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=43_14&product_id=1012&car=
Terry Everall
If you are considering doing some sprinting then 4 point or 6 pointed harnesses will need slots in the seat sides and base to permit the belts to fit in the correct position
Valentinik
Thanks Terry, i was unaware of that. I'l go for the JKs, they seem to be the best option.

shrops-paul
I have JK's and they are cumfy and good quality etc. The only marks are in the edge of the drivers seat from feet getting in and out but they aren't bad. I'm in Shropshire tho so might be a little far to have a sit. And my car is immobile currently with no coolant.
CL290005
I have a pair of those kitcar seats, the car is not on the road but in the garage these do fit well, mine are rigid, I would say they were more ridgid than the JK's I originally looked at, but it was a couple of years ago
