NOVICE Target Times 2016

Enclosed is a downloadable NOVICE Target Times highlighted in light blue so you don't mistake it for the normal target times. Obviously as A2 & B2 are expert only there are no times for these classes.

This year the Novice Championship is being run totally separately to the main Championship. So if your car class is F and you are a Novice then you will only score in the Novice Championship NOT  the main championship. You will be scored against these times which are slightly easier than the main championship ones.

Thanks Nick.  I think this is a positive change.  Presumably you would also not be in contention as a novice in F for any class ranking either.

That's correct David, you only compete in the Novice Championship, but could win your specific Class in Novice. So if 2 or more in F then they are competing against each other, but not the experts in F.

Highly unlikely I know, but if a novice (registered in the novice championship) when scored against the normal target times scored the most overall points (including beating the experts) would they be allowed to win the overall Championship?

 

They would have won it on merit,,

No, as they are entered for the other championship. But as you say Barry, a very unlikely event.
