What is best for re-painting the wishbones etc.

I was looking at getting the wishbones etc on the front of Buttercup re-powdercoated.

However if I was to have them stripped and sprayed, what is the best product to use that is tough and long-lasting.

I've used Dulux Metalshield on mine. It's formulated for treating external metal cladding on buildings so should be pretty tough. Not on the road yet so I don't know how it will stand up.

Dulux also do a primer for Metalshied the can be painted over powder coating.

I went this route because I wanted to match the Grey chassis and Metalshield can be mixed to most RAL colours.

If having them done, I'd have them blasted back to bear metal primered and zinc coated, then powder coated over the top. (Or hot zinc coated then powder coated, depending what your preferred coated does).

Thanks Men.

I was going to have them powder coated but the garage has said

"as the bushes in the wish bones will need pressing out due to the heat of the oven and I remember from another job that they're a b******* to get out without destroying them so propose stripping paint off and just respraying them gloss black"

I don't mind wither way but I want what I pay for to last.

Simoniz tough black spray paint in gloss or satin will do the job

Why not powdercoat then fit nylon bushes as they go in easy.

I can confirm that getting the old metalastic bushes out is a b******* if they have been in there for several years. Some pressed out but I had to cut others out as I was distorting the boss with the press.

Thanks all for the great advice.

I will speak with the garage today regarding the various options proposed.
