Mighty Mart
Cheers Andy. Been looking at a Westie for a bit and took the plunge last year, picking up an old but pretty good narrow se that started life in the early nineties fitted with a mighty crossflow....just fell in love with the noise. It's pretty quick, but obviously this is exaggerated by sitting 4 inches above the deck, but you all know that on hear already lol... I should know better at my age, but it's about as much fun as you can have without ending up divorced, I reckon. Every other road user seems to look at you with a 'wow, I wish I had one' look, and even the bikers show more respect than when your in a tiptop. Lovin it. Mart. Kevin (Mr T)
Welcome from Essex. Nothing better than a tiny car with a mighty crossflow!
Mighty Mart
Welcome from Essex. Nothing better than a tiny car with a mighty crossflow! Thanks Mr T - got a bit of a chequered history engine wise - was upgraded by a previous owner and then given to Roger King to rebuild and sort, so its not an RK thoroughbred, but he appears to have done pretty well with what he was given. The bill verifies that lol... It was kicking out 145 once ran in and rolling roaded in the late nineties and is still knocking out over 130 when I had it on a local rr last july, although it seems to be down on cr very slightly in one pot. I'm hanging my hat on the valve seats as the previous owner was assured by his po that it was fine on unleaded, which is not the case according to RK who has been most informative and helpful - its now running on octane booster and super. So being a complete novice westy wise, just how much (if anything) am I missing out on having the x flow as opposed to any other engine? I'll post some pics up later if I get the chance. Mart. Mighty Mart
[/url http://s281.photobucket.com/user/smart20_bucket/media/westfield%20005.jpg.html] Have changed the steering wheel and made an extended boss for it. Fitted an omex clubman rev limiter set at 6500, a modded Yamaha r1 exhaust can, a bc1200 bike speedo cos the speedo jumped all over the place and was about 30% too high! , took off the black intake from the bonnet and have new mudguards to fit. Need to renew the steering arm boots as they were a advisory on the mot, do an oil and filter change and jobs a Good'un. Mart.

Mighty Mart
That's the grandson mate...I'm starting him early, much to the disgust of his mum who is my daughter in law lol... He's already into everything so the sooner he gets dome proper tools in his hand the better, I reckon. Mart.
Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO
from the Midlands! The car looks great and I'm sure it goes well and the mighty crossflow always sounds fantastic. As for the engine you are not missing out on the experience of driving a Westfield so get out and enjoy the car as much as you can Martyn
