BillyPee
Long shot but I know some people on here have other cars or know people that do. It's my father-in-law's 70th in November this year and I know he's always had a soft spot for the Jensen Interceptor. Does anyone have access to one or know someone who would be willing to give him a passenger ride in exchange for beer tokens (or a Westfield passenger ride)? He lives near Warrington but I could take him pretty much anywhere in the UK for this experience. I know he'd be thrilled. Cheers, Bill
BillyPee
FYI, I've e-mailed the Cheshire AO of the JOC too.
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
I can take him for a trip in Buttercup if you are over Scarborough way anytime.
Man On The Clapham Omnibus
He's a man after my own heart! Actually I have a soft spot for the CV8 too, whilst my omnibus travelling companion likes the older 541R. I almost bought an Interceptor in the early eighties but the gurgling sound from the fuel tank when the owner opened the throttles on 6.3 litres worried me slightly.

That's very kind Geoffrey but he's not a fan of the Westfield as its too small. I did get him in the first Westfield we had (under duress) but he hasn't been in the current one. Same with the wife. All the more reason to keep it!
BillyPee
Good point MOTCO. I'm coming around to the Interceptor as I get older (both in terms of styling and American V8 powerplant) but its not really on my wish list if I won the lottery. Give the choice of a car that combines luxury and speed against two separate cars that do only one of those each, I take the second option anytime. Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO
I once saw an Interceptor for sale for around £1600 that I thought about buying, but my dad talked me out of it. Rough body, 7.2 litre and insurance for an 18 year old don't mix. Still one of my favourite cars and the FF.
Man On The Clapham Omnibus
I was working for GKN in the late 60s at a site on the riverside in Chiswick. The area director of the sub-group had an FF Interceptor and it cost more than the house I had just bought in a village in south Bucks! Beautiful machine though. I suspect fuel consumption didn't bother him a lot...

Kevin (Mr T)
I fondly remember my late brother restoring one of these at the garage where he worked. It was great watching him float lead onto the bodywork, rather than filler, in the areas that he couldn't work with a hammer and dolly. It was an absolute beauty when it was finished. Man On The Clapham Omnibus
I used to occasionally visit a customer in Three Bridges in the Crawley area and there was a Jensen Interceptor in their back yard. It was a very sorry sight with the paintwork faded and peeling, flat tyres, and mould growing inside. This was around 1998 or thereabouts and I have not had cause to go there since. I wonder what happened to it...
