Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Meet at The Wheatsheaf, Baslow, DE45 1SR, 10.30am on Saturday 13th February. Full on English breakfast's and bacon butties are becoming very popular here so don't be scared to arrive hungry. We will be sat on the left as you go through the door, next to the real fire. From there we will drive to the Monsal Head Viaduct, uphill and round the bends (in first gear at one point) to Litton before heading to the Yonderman for lunch. If it is Valentine's Day, hopefully, we will miss all this over-commercialised soppy nonsense and get a normal lunch at a normal price....and I can stare romantically into the eyes of the Guy Martin photo on the wall. Glen has now warned me that if this Guy Martin business carries on, he will file for divorce Moving quickly back on topic, we will make it up as we go along for the afternoon session, depending on how the weather is and if we get any hail/snow flurries this time. Hope to see you there Julie - The current wife! For a drive out on Sunday please PM me for details.

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
The updated plan is that we are meeting Russ and another member (in a tin top) at the Wheatsheaf on Saturday at 10.30am. It is looking like it will be more of a tin top meet and a chat with no particular run out, but that will depend on the actual weather. Sunday is forecast better weather and I think it is just us, we will be scooting around the Peak District so if anyone wants to meet up it I think it will be best to PM me. Martyn and Sue hope you enjoy your lovey dovey lunch, missing you.

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Well Russ you asked for that off Trevor Ben, we will be at The Wheatsheaf at 10.30 am as we are meeting another member there. The weather is forecast dry so we will be in the Westfield, if you fancy a run out? and want to show us your new car. Cheers Julie
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
We met Luke (Labrat on the forum) and Gemma at The Wheatsheaf and we went in the Westfield as the weather was being very kind to us, no wind or rain and the sun even came out at one point. We love meeting new people, especially when they are as nice as you two, thank you for coming along. I am learning a lot about the history of the WSCC by reading the anniversary magazine and it was interesting to talk to Luke who has been around for a good few years too. I did feel a little inferior though, Luke's car being a 3.9 V8 with about 100bhp more than me, that will be challenging when it comes out in the summer. Gemma makes me feel a bit better, hers is one horsepower, literally. Come and weigh the horse and box anytime Gemma, but not on the day we weigh the cars, we are a noisy lot and will frighten the poor thing. I have not taken a picture of my car in the car park of the Wheatsheaf because I am sure you are all sick of seeing it by now, but I have taken a picture of a 1923 Rolls Royce RS8 that we met later on. After waving a goodbye to Luke and Gemma we took the opportunity to find somewhere new and we headed off through Chatsworth and Matlock Bath to the National Stone Centre at Blackrock. Don't laugh, it might be interesting. This little fella was sat looking at us when we got there, a Rolls Royce RS8 from 1923, so that's nearly 100 years old. Glen set off to get his cloth and some polish, but I said we didn't have time today!! Each level of this structure is made of a different type of rock from a different era You can just make out the display of dry stone walling on the right of the building. Inside the building is the best cherry cake you have ever tasted, oh and an exhibition. At 85p for a cup of tea within the National Park boundary we will be definitely coming back here. YakATAC29
Sorry Julie had a dash off to work to scrub some pointing off or I would of loved to have joined you for some eggs & bacon & a look at that v8 Promise I won't miss next time! Nice to see you had a ride down from me to the stone centre..it was a bit fresh tho!
Labrat
Hi Julie, It was great to meet up with you and Glen. We look forward to some good drives out over the summer. Don't worry about the power differential, I drive like an old granny :-) For those who weren't there this morning don't worry, we were in the tin top but the V8 will make an appearance in the next few weeks. all the best, Luke.

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Here is one to tempt you lot from boring chores, work and eye tests, we went on another discovery trail today and found some brill roads that I didn't even know were there. While we were out yesterday I read a notice about a Cyclo Sportive with seven hills in it, I thought it might be an interesting route in a car, so last night I googled it, got the route and set out today to do the bits I didn't know. Oh boy, what great views and empty roads, we are doing this next weekend, Monsal Head will have to wait! The first new bit Then we went to Calver crossroads cafe for lunch and did this bit Don't ask me where we have been, there were no road numbers, but the whole trip from front door to front door was 55 miles, so I don't know what's on my own doorstep, huff.
