Jon Murray Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 AVO COIL OVER SHOCKS AND SPRINGS These AVO coil over shocks were fitted to my factory built (year 2000) Westfield SEiGHT from new – and were removed this summer after two years and only 2500 dry miles of use! They are in very good condition. For pictures, click here: Pictures of AVO coil over shocks for sale Pro Race range, suitable for a SEI Westfield 22 clicks of adjustment that simultaneously adjusts bump and rebound. Absolutely no leaks. All shocks are complete with rubber bonded bushes which are in great condition. Bumps stops fitted to both front and rear shocks - all in excellent condition. Absolutely no sign of wear or pitting to the pistons themselves CNC machined thick wall construction (steel). Aluminium alloy top spring seat and screw ring adjuster. Easy height adjustment with single lock ring adjustment with grub screw lock. Fully re-buildable construction. Fronts: Fitted with 300lb 1.9” ID springs Open length = 12.5” Closed length = about 10.75” (with bump stop fitted) Rears: Fitted with 200lb 1.9” ID springs Open length = 14.5” Closed length = 11.25” (with bump stop fitted) Note: 300lb fronts and 200lb rears are regularly recommended for both V8 and Vauxhall engined cars without ARB’s (don’t forget that an all alloy V8 engine weighs only 5kg more than the 2litre 16v Vx) . They are also recommended for crossflows that have ARB’s fitted, see here: Spring Rates Discussion Free - Genuine Westfield ‘C’ spanner thrown in! Nice little ’C’ spanner for 1.9” applications with the Westfield logo stamped on it! Given to me by Chris Smith himself! Worth a fortune!!! Known Issues: Apart from a few small chinks in the paint and some very slight (cosmetic) surface rust on the bare threads of the platform adjuster on the fronts (normal on this type of shock) there are no known faults with these items. In fact, the surface rust could easily be removed with a wire brush if the spring was compressed and removed. This shock/spring package offers excellent performance and tremendous value for the lucky second user. Price: £140 (firm) for all four AVO shocks and springs (not forgetting the C spanner) – Sorry, it’s not practical to split.
