Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 It's the Cheshire & N. Staffs monthly meet this Thursday, usual time and place, The Whipping Stocks 7.30 pm. I'll try and make this one, though with hospital visiting times what they are, I may be rather late. Quote

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Looking like theirs a chance I might make it for a bit! For those that didn't know, I had to get my elderly mum rushed into hospital about a month ago, where she's been since. It got quite close at one point two weeks ago, (if she'd been Catholic, last rites would have been read), fortunately for the moment she's rallied and at long last considered fit for release, so they're transferring her to a local care home for a few days or so respite care before she can go home "properly". To cap it all, I've been so stressed out and run down from it all, I ended up picking up an infection (from the hospital), and ended up spending the start of the week in the same damn place while they stuck me on a drip to rehydrate me! All in all, not a great start to the year, and in fairness, the long term prognosis for my mum isn't great, but she's 89 and made her peace with the world, so it's more about quality time with friends and dignity than medical miracles.
