Looking for a replacement ring gear or flywheel for my xflow. Ring gear has split- I have an inertia type starter motor :)

Is the ring gear the same on a 1300 as a 1600, if it is I've got one.

I can't be sure, I will do a little research and get back to you

I know inertia/pre engaged rings are different but not sure how to identify. Still haven't got the engine/gbox out

Will let you know, thanks.

Hi, the 1300/1600 Ring gears are the same. The only difference being pre-engaged and inertia. The majority if not all of the 1300's used the inertia type starter so hopefully it's correct. Can you confirm if the teeth have a chamfered edge?

If so how much are you looking for?

Did you manage to check?

Thanks

Hi Chris, just managed to get time to check, yes the teeth are chamfered, is there an easy way to get them off, I've been trying, just managed to bend a spanner and knackered a ratchet, they're not reverse threads are they?

They are heated until they expand, dropped on and allowed to cool... I didn't realise it was on a flywheel. Probably too much trouble for you to remove. Do you need the flywheel?
