I am back to the fold after a 3 year absent

I have just got a  FW duratec   2 liter with raceline sump from westfield  but was built has a kit 12 plate

I need to change oil filter and plugs it will be used for fast road not track

without going on too much with  all technical details just some plain English where to buy filter with part  numbers

it is a very small filter screwed below the throttle bodies and only sticks out about 2 inch before hitting steering arm

I believe it has had full synthetic oil

looked on web for full synthetic oil and there is stuff for all sorts of different engines etc desiles

le so just want some plain advice thanks john

Just lookup the oil for for a fiesta st150 - from memory or should be a 5w30 oil and if you want extra protection to fit a fully synthetic one - Miller's, silkoline.

Sorry can't help re filter.

Does not sound like a duratec engine to me...... Throttle bodies on the duratec engine are on the kerb side and if car is rhd then steering column is on offside. Normal filter housing on a duratec is bottom near side below the starter but can be a remote fitted anywhere. However throttle bodies are 100% near side.

throttle bodies are on the kerb side and exhaust on driver right and drive side   just had a look the filter is near to the starter motor on kerb side sorry my mistake and has a small black filter saying man w77  I believe that 5 litres is the race line  sump capacity can some one vary that thanks

I was told 5 litres for the Raceline sump, but in truth I found from practical experience that it was over full with 5 litres in. 4 1/2 litres was nearer the mark. I'd buy 5 litres at a time, and save the remainder for topping up if necessary.

As we dont live in a very cold climate then you will be fine with a 5 in the first number. For the second number please check but i am sure (backed up by Stephens post tech) that 30 is standard for a duratec. If you live in a very warm climate or are going to thrash it within an inch of its life (I.e lots of track work) then you may want to go higher to a 40 or 50 - this is the thickness (protection) of the oil at high temps.

I bought Stephens Raceline wet sump and raceline sent me spare fitting instructions. The instructions state 5 litres so that's what I put in. I would however add, I would say 4.5 would be better as the 5 litres takes it well over the inlet for the dip stick! Guess how I found out!!!!
