Anybody out there got any of the following before I spend an arm and a leg at SBD , MBE ecu and loom ? SBD dry sump and tank ? Gen 1 throttle bodies ? . They're all upgrades I'm considering but add up to a load of cash new

Just as an aside .. Make sure you get the large 5 litre dry sump tank not the smaller 3.5 litre version

I was looking at that , I've got the standard westfield tank at the moment and I'm guessing that's around five litres ?

SBD's 3.5 litre tank is really just for the XE.

Not sure what size Westfields is, but would have thought 5 litres or more.

It is the 9A4 ecu I was looking at getting for mine

Cheers Mark , I think they're stock bodies apart from the high flow fuel rail which I've already got , I'm looking for the SBD bodies

Speak with Daytuner.  They have mapped loads of MBE bike engine cars. When I took my car there he didn't think changing throttle bodies materially helped output.

Also speak with GWR motorsport.  They would probably be cheaper for a loom and ECU.  for Motec they offer 15% discount ... maybe the same for MBE

Also if going to all the expense and wanting MBE I would go 9A9 so you have better launch and traction options and in the future gearbox control.

Also don't overlook the new Motec M1.  They have a plug and play option for the BUSA now I think.

There are also people that can now map the standard bike ECU without needing power commander.

You might also want to check what rotor / crank trigger your engine has.

All depends what you are trying to acheive really

Thanks for all that info , I'll do a bit more searching around before I put some cash in , I've got two engines , one standard circa 2001 which might need the rotor changing and an extreme built K7 which has been bored to 1350 flowed head and billet cams and other stuff , that should be good for a fair bit over 200bhp once set up correctly ( it's quoted as around 235bhp but I think that's a bit optimistic ? ) .

That motor has the big cc nova sump on it which I've been told is a pretty good sump .

SBD have tweeked their sump to relocate the pressure relief valve which helps to keep it submerged in oil and it also looks a lot neater with less plumbing needed that's why I was looking at theirs .

What's controlled on the gearbox with the 9A9 ?
