B.RAD
Hi All I have a type E 4 speed gearbox for sale, excellent condition, had a full recondition by SPC and was then put into storage. Was tested recently and works perfectly, internally is as new (as you'd expect from SPC). Includes gearstick, bent to suit a Westfield, so will fit without an extension. More photos are available, just post or PM and I'll send them over. Can also supply an original Ford bellhousing to suit a crossflow or zetec should it be required (this will be FOC at asking price). For sale at £450, great value for a freshly rebuilt gearbox.
Terry Everall
good value for a syncro box but you need to quote the ratios
Darrell O'Neill
Silly question, but are the mounting bolts the same on a type E as the type 9? ... Could be interested depending on the ratios.
Pistol Pete
Mounting poiny for a type E is a little furtyer forward compared with type 9. I believe you can just add a plate to extend it.
B.RAD
Yes that's correct, depends on your chassis as to if it will go straight in or not, mine has a plate in the gearbox tunnel big enough for both a type E and a type 9 with mounting holes for both. Not sure on the ratios, I believe it is standard but am happy to check if the process can be advised...! Cheers.
XTR2Turbo
Just put in gear and turn input shaft and count turns required for output shaft to turn once. You probably only need to do it for 1st because if that is standard the rest will be. David
B.RAD
Thanks David, had a look on my lunch break and by doing the exercise you describe and with some fine googling, I believe it to be a standard RS2000 box with ratios of: 1st 3.65 2nd 1.97 3rd 1.37 4th 1.00 Not too bad for a standard car, or may suit a kit looking for a period build or a proper resto classic? Terry Everall
the mounting points are 3"different but overall length of e type and type 9 are the same
