Ive changed phones to a samsung but it seems like there is an issue with itunes. Anyone who sends me messages from an iphone has a 50:50 chamce ill get it as it seems my number is assocuayed with ichat. So it either takes ages to send till it eventually goes as a text, simply never sends, or even worse my old phone if connected to wifi will recieve the chat!

Anyone know how to solve this? Seems like you cant actually delete your apple Id!

I had a similar problem when when I switched from iPhone to Android couple of years ago and it seemingly is a general long-term issue.  This worked for me (still had my iPhone), but it took 2 or 3 weeks to fully unwind.  I completely stopped using iTunes at the same time.  Wouldn't touch anything Apple with your bargepole now - this nonsense was the final straw

I share Stuarts dislike of iGadgets but... surely you can still log in to the account and change the email address? Once that is done I'd email whatever support there is and ask them to delete the account. These days I believe they'd have to have a pretty good reason to refuse a user request to delete an account.

Apple probably own you forever then......

Cant remember the password .... haha!

And you didn't set up the "answer two questions" method for password recovery? Have you tried? I constantly forget my Apple ID (I have to have one for work. Ironically I work with Apple devices more than almost anything else, and I still dislike them...) so I go through password recovery every few weeks. Two questions and you can set a new password. From there you're golden.

Assuming you've kept your old number go onto your old device, make sure it's connected to wi-fi and turn off I-Messaging, that might give you a fighting chance.
