Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Monday 28th Dec, 10.30 am Wheatsheaf, Baslow, DE45 1SR. Follow me for a scoot around the Peak District taking in the high road that leads down into Hathersage that we did last week. It was good, the views were great and it has to be repeated. That leads on to my favourite left hander up the hill and then we go slow down Mam Nick or we bottom out. I guess that makes lunch in Edale, I am making this up now as I am going along, can you tell? As Martyn and Sue's suits have probably shrunk in the rain and Trevor's disintegrated last weekend, there are no lights, tinsel or suits required. We are going for the 'sane' look, if you can remember it, it looks like normally dressed people in dry cars with no roofs on i.e no nuts. Anyone available?? Hope to see Chris/Mrs Emm and Dave then, and what a shame Russ isn't taxed or, er, I mean has brake light problems

Mind you, they are in the hills above Glossop, so I might just take the Westfield.

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Thank you to Dave and Chris for making it out with us today. We met at The Wheatsheaf for brews and breakfast. Turning left out of the pub we headed up over the moors, past 'Toads Mouth' (a rock formation that, guess what? looks like a toad), down 'Surprise View' into Hathersausage, Winnats Pass, more views down Mam Nick and to the Travellers Rest for lunch. Shame it wasn't yesterday as the High Peak TVR club met there then. It was nice to have no roof or doors on and to get the wind in your face at last, just the puddles to avoid. Can't avoid the sludge though hey Dave? Chris? A bit of tyre kicking in the car park revealed the highlight of the day, Dave's new Omex throttle bodies, the first one's to be fitted. It was worth coming out today just to see these. Giving more power all through the range, Dave had quite a big smile on his face. Stu Finkangel, are you watching? Who is next? The Travellers Rest After a hearty lunch, Chris was at the right side of the Peak District to head off home, whereas Dave and us cut across country into a milky sun towards Buxton. Dave peeled off up towards the Cat and Fiddle road and we went for a pose through Buxton and Bakewell on our way home. The driving has been lovely today with sweeping bends and far reaching views in dry weather. The roads have been a bit drier and the driving a bit slower so I even managed not to go sideways too. Next Sunday I think there is a classic car breakfast meet at Middleton Hall, North Warwickshire. If the rumour is true hopefully we can go there and have a run back via Ashbourne and through the Peak District on the way home. Keep an eye on the events page.
