jeff oakley
Nope. Aerodynamics are what need banning. It is *impossible* to have racing when the only thing the drivers and teams are looking for is clean air. Have all the electro-technical gimmickery you want, just get rid of the wings. Ignoring production meetings, PA's, show development and any number of other things that have to be managed. DJ's do a LOT more than just what they do on air. Same goes for news readers and reporters. As I understand it they are controlled remotely from the gallery but there is still a human on the controls. I don't think they are fully automatic. I agree with you completely on the aerodynamics, mechanical grip has needs to be the main focus with some aero. On the DJ's yes agree there will be other work but when you compare with the commercial radio businesses they tend to work with much smaller teams, much smaller budgets and work longer. If you notice many of the shows that are on later, like Johnny Walker are produced by independent companies not the BBC. Steve Wright is the one that annoys me, he has two others helping, Tim and the mad tree hugging woman, and still only sticks music on, it is the big show as it is the longest on Radio two. You need good technical people to produce good programs, which the BBC does, but it does those at a cost that is not sustainable. As with all things that have public money thrown at them, value is not high on the list of those charged with running them. Back to F1 it has a struggle going forward
dombanks
maybe the beeb will cut all that strictlybakeoffonicefactor ****e too. mind you i never really watched the f1 and most certainly dont watch some decrepit old has-been rubbish either so it doesn't bother me that much. frankly id rather do without ANY of the bbc and not have to fork out for a license. local bbc radio is dire. national radio is not much better. its online content is bigoted and bias. ive spent the last 2 months with no tv at all and frankly have not missed it a huge amount. just streamed stuff from netflix or other sources. if i could get away with not having a license i wouldn't bother

Captain Colonial
Be aware that they are moving towards a system requiring a license to watch TV, catch up or live, on a tablet or phone, so this info only has a limited shelf life. Tbh combine my recent tv black out and the fact im not in a car so dont listen to much radio either i find my life is strangely better and enriched without all the crappy celeb rubish and rhetoric being forced down my throat by it. I know you can say ignore it but you still listen when its there and adsorb it. maybe i should go and live in cave ... (so long as its got space and electric for the westy)
Simon Waterfall Syman84
yes its boring a lot of the time yes the money that is spent is astronomical, but sometime just sometime you see why these drivers are at the pinnacle of there sport. I go to a race most years never Silverstone somewhere in Europe so yes people say its expensive but for example this year not got lots of spare cash so did spa on a budget 10 of us went all took camping gear. general admission 3days £90 camping with electric hookup for 5 days £50 ferry £90 split between 2 beer and food £50 fuel £80 split between 2 total £275 for 5 day adventure with a little bit of racing
