Terry Everall Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Saw a guy today on the road using a single wheel contraption ( smoking a fag at the same time) no hands and doing 20 mph! Anyone know what it was? 1 Quote
Castlecroft Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Might be one of these.. http://www.airwheel.net/home/product/x6 Quote

John Williams (Panda) - Joint Manchester AO Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 next you'll be asking what class can you run in? Quote
Castlecroft Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I guess that it would be road going specialist, and competing for the electric record up a hill.... but then ruled out as it doesn't have a list 1A or 1B tyre... Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 You could use it for doing the track walk Quote
Captain Colonial Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 If a Segway isn't legal on UK roads and pavements, there will be no way that death wheel is legal either. Anyone riding one of those is definitely not going to look good. Quote
Terry Everall Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 The progress the guy was making through the traffic was very impressive but he did look a bit vulnerable and presumably not insured etc ! Saves city centre parking fees and would cut down on traffic jams Quote
magellan Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Last time I was in London i was stunned by a chap gliding past me on one of these. He was wearing a full suit shirt and tie and carrying a briefcase! I guess he could just pick it up and tick it under his desk at work. Amazing and surprisingly quick. Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Was that the thing Hamilton was tooling around on on't Jonathan Ross show t'other neet Quote
iowlee Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 A friend has one of these, very clever and he makes it look effortless. I make it look dangerous. I don't think this is for me. We used it at a charity event a couple of months ago to raise a few extra quid. All you had to do was ride it for 10m without falling off. No one did it, a few got close. Most people give up after one or two attempts. Lee Quote
stephenh Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Terry, it's not for old blokes like you. You'll break your bloomin' neck if you start fooling around with those sort of contraptions! Quote
Terry Everall Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Stephen........But you are forgetting that I am as fit as a butcher's dog Quote
