Lawrie
The major problem is the tube size - 42.4 dia. x 2.6mm. I think Westfield used 37 dia x 3mm. Mounting is difficult too. I've just seen "Drawing No 30" in the Blue Book, which must be approved for something, but looks similar to, and no stronger than a rose joint
B.RAD
Depends...! It's complicated, what age is your car and do you know when your bar was installed?

B.RAD
You might be ok, if it was commissioned pre-01.01.95 then 38mm od tubes are permitted. Do you want to change it?
Simon Waterfall Syman84
I would like to know I will be safe so I suppose that's part of it as well. But if I can use it for a couple of events next year and change it later on that would be preferable as I have had to make sure I have all the other safety equipment. I have had to remove the roll bar so I could get the bootbox out because I only have one fixing point for my harnesses so having to add extra one so I can use 4 points. If I do need to change it then how likely am I going to be able to find one to fit a pre lit. I know the body had to change because of litigation but did the chassis. Will the narrow one from playskool fit. Just brain dumping sorry Thanks for the help
B.RAD
Its hard to tell from the pictures because there isn't one of the whole roll bar, but it looks like the rear stays are welded at the top but are not at the corners, is that right? The current requirement for next year is that the roll bar must conform with regulation K1.6.1 and drawing K1. I think you'd be ok on tube diameter as your car is pre-95 so tube diameter needs to be 38mm, which you have, but I'm not sure it conforms to drawing K1, where the rear stays meet the top corners of the hoop. Also not sure what od the support stays need to be but can easily check that later. At the end of the day it will come down to how picky your scrutineer is at the event, they may not say anything, they may point it out but let you through or they may not let you run. In terms of replacement, your best bet is to speak directly to caged who can help with any job, if thats what you decide to do.

B.RAD
Yes that would be recommended but is obviously your choice - caged have done pre-lits before so will definitely be able to help you.

B.RAD
Check with Luke but I'm pretty sure their bars are made by Caged anyway. They're based in Frome, 01373 452866 www.therollcagepeople.com
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
If one from Plays Kool fits, then go with it. I know of no others that fit off the shelf and would need to be made to measure
Simon Waterfall Syman84
cheers john Luke has said that if we aren't right with the measurements then he is happy for me to send it back so he has put my name to one when they are back in stock in next couple of weeks. thanks for everyone's help next problem will be a head rest so get read for the continued questions.
