Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Following on from my winter picnic, I have had a couple of requests to organise another "party" but for on a Sunday so here you are. Date. Sunday 20th December. Location. Glaisdale. Glaisdale is near Grosmont in the North Yorkshire Moors. You do not have to come in your Westfield so tintops are more than welcome as are members from anywhere in the world. There is plenty of parking and spaces for children to run around and there are also paths through the local woodland to explore. If you do come in a Westfield then you can park under the arches. When we have our picnics here we sit on the rocks under the bridge. I would aim for the party to start at 12 noon. You would need to take the following. A towel to put on the rocks to sit on. A change of footwear, walking boots or wellies are ideal. The food you want to eat and any silly hats, crackers etc. I will take a Christmas tree and lights. I will also take logs for a log fire but if you want bring any then please do so. You will also need a sense of adventure and loads of massive smiles. Wives, girlfriends, male or female partners, mistresses and children are all more than welcome. If YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US WILL YOU PLEASE POST YOUR NAME IN THIS THREAD AND WHERE YOU ARE TRAVELLING FROM SO WE CAN SORT OUT A SUITABLE MEETING PLACE. Here are some pictures of the area. Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Just a massive thankyou to everyone who attended. A big thankyou to all the children as I think we all agreed that they made the day so much more special. We had Father Christmas. The choir, fireworks, water pistols, silly string fights, toasted marshmallows with strawberries and sauce, Christmas music, mud fights, a Christmas tree complete with lights, a log fire, frying pans full of food and two BBQ's full of food, a lucky dip with presents for the children and loads more that I forget. But the best thing we had in bucket-loads was FUN, LAUGHTER & SMILES GALORE. Looking forward to next year already.
