Scam?

I enquired about a car for sale on eBay and got this response.

Sounds like the start of a scam to me. What do you reckon?

Hi there,

First of all I want to thank you for your interest in my vehicle: 2011 Nissan Qashqai 2.0 dCi Tekna 4WD
There are no issues with this vehicle, she has been diligently maintained by a careful dealer and has been regularly serviced, it has full service history (19,800 miles) and HPI clear. The vehicle is being stored in Plymouth, Devon. The final price that I want for this vehicle is  £6,058 (including shipping and handling). I'm selling it because I've just moved abroad. Unfortunately I can't conclude this transaction personally because my work involves a lot of traveling but I left everything prepared for the sale.

It does sound like a scam, could be perfectly genuine, but why risk it?

Could be a Japanese personal import - but would be called a Dualis.

However, as said almost certainly a scam. (If it looks too good to be true   etc ...)

eg  https://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/nissan/dualis/17181008/

I am considering importing a campervan at the moment - lots of paperwork (and some risk...!)

Dave.

usually a copied advert

If you want any Nissan I can get mates rates - that's not a scam!

I'm not even going to bother to reply to the guy. Doesn't seem there is an easy way to report it to eBay.

I thought when I saw the advert that it seemed to good to be true. It was just too cheap for the age and spec of vehicle.

Yeah I'm after a Nissan, but a used one, not a new one.

I've given myself a fairly hard task as my ideal spec is a fairly rare beast (at a decent price) as I'm after the Qashqai+2 with the 7 seats.

No rush mind, so the right one will come my way at some point. Just lots of crap to look at along the way

There is a standard scam like this.

Never buy a car from someone without a confirmed UK residential address

Since originally posting this thread I have found 5 further scams and that's just for this model of vehicle.

Autotrader seem particularly good at taking the scams offline as soon as notified. Ebay seem to not care.

I can't believe that the scamers actually catch anybody but maybe they do
