Loads of push bikes on the road that certainly weren't in such numbers before. Speed cameras everywhere! Can't believe how many there are around now, especially the average speed ones. Not as many motor bikes out as there used to be, certainly earlier on in the morning, and they aren't riding as hard at all either. Any time from from 8am to 6pm is prime profit making time for the stealth tax vans, you'll also have idiots on every mile of road, from the incompetent to the passive/aggressive to the down right a-holes. You're right Martin, but North Yorkshire Police have recently bought several more camera vans, bringing the total number up to about eight I think. They are packed with very high tech equipment and turn up almost anywhere. I saw one on the Middleham side of Middleham bridge recently targeting traffic coming from Leyburn. I've also seen them on the Great Langton side of Scorton at the Ellerton junction. Both of these roads are known for motorcycle traffic . I should do that now, car behaved perfectly apart from the continued leak from the front crank seal, so getting some confidence back in the now the fuel pumps been changed. The speed issue is not made much easier by the cable driven speedo jumping around wildly at times, especially in 30 mph limits. Can improve by tweaking the cable behind the dash. May resort to speedo on phone instead by gps. Must try and find an app with average speed in it as well to save trying to balance out the 30 mph time with the 60..mph time in the ave speed 50 mph sections. The problem is though, they like to hide the vans on sections of roads that are the only overtaking spots for miles.... Just where you'll be overtaking 5 cars stuck behind some numpty doing 41mph. On the plus side it's seemingly ok to drive through small villages and past local schools at whatever speed you like, which for most is 41mph.
