Diesel Estate/Mpv on a budget!

On the lookout for a car for my brother. Ideally estate or MPV but largish hatch would also be ok. Diesel would be best as he has a reasonable daily commute. Budget is modest at 12 - 1500 pounds

What does anyone have?
