mikef
Is there anyone on here who is HETAS registered and knows about word burner flues and wouldn't mind talking to me about a new flue that I have had installed?
DerekJ
Hi, I looked at this a year ago and, like most things now, you should not install them yourself. You need a "qualified" person to do it or it's “not to code”. Even though the regulations about flue position and installation are quite clear and the kit that you by is almost fool proof. mikef
Hi Derek, I did not instal the flue - I had a qualified HETAS man to do it. However, someone else has indicated that the installation might not be compliant with building regulations and might be dangerous. I contacted HETAS and they said I must take it up with the chap who installed it. I am still waiting for this chap to get back to me. If and when he does, I suspect he will baffle me with science. I have contacted the local building inspectors who say that so long as it was installed by a HETAS man, they will not get involved. I was hoping there might be someone in the WSCC who is suitably qualified and who might give me a second opinion. Mike.
Tricky
I'm not hetas qualified but I am gas qualified and train/assess to ACS standard so I do have 33 yrs experience with flues. If you want to pm me your mobile I'll give you a ring. Cheers Richard
