Chris Hooper Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Has anyone got any experience with the Ashcroft aftermarket LSD in the Westfield Mazda it looks good value. I'm only packing 130ish HP ( 20 years ago) but it seems a good time to upgrade before I fit the diff. Quote
Dommo Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 It's gotten good reviews on the MX5Nutz forum, but I'm not sure it has sold particularly well as I can never find it on the Ashcroft transmissions website. Always on eBay though I think. I was planning on getting one but at the same time I also want a lower ratio diff, and that should already be LSD. Quote
Chris Hooper Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Has anyone fitted this im having difficulty finding someone to do it for me. Ashcroft don't have a fitting service. I don't feel comfortable opening the diff it looks very complicated in there. Quote
Dommo Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 A proper garage should be able to I'd have thought. Given where you are there should be plenty around. Perhaps NMS? Quote
BenD Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 do they not come with fitting insturctions. i have seen it done on tv never tried it myself mind but it didnt appear to hard. as long as the gears are running true which is done with a form of marking paste i think also have you contacted ashcroft as i read on mx5 nutz website they do offer fitting Quote
Chris Hooper Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 I did contact Dave Ashcroft and they don't have a fitting service. He did send me this though http://www.miata.net/garage/diff_rr.html Quote
BenD Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 i was looking for that guide on my dinner break i couldnt find it thanks for uploading. i did note that the lsd that they sell dosnt fit the 1.6 but as i can see yours is a 1.8 then it shouldnt be a problem reading through that guide thats pretty much how i had in my mind it would work i have access to all of those tools aswell but they arent expensive to buy if you havent got them. but all in all mate if your competant i wouldnt of thought it would be much to fit http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102482&page=3 few pics on there of the built up article Quote
