Dommo Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Now that I've finished my turbo conversion and am happy with it, I can't see my going back to the throttle bodies so offering them up for sale. Not sure they'll get much interest here as most Mazda SDV guys have the mk1 engine, and the inlet manifold here will only fit the mk2 or mk2.5. You will need an aftermarket ECU to run these # Kit includes: DanST inlet manifold to suit MK5 1.8 Mk2 or Mk2.5 Silicone joiners GSXR 750/1000 42mm throttle bodies, respaced and linked appropriately Carbon fibre backplate 50mm trumpets Westfield foam air filter Throttle Position Sensor Appropriate silicone vacuum hoses and joiners to attach to a MAP sensor Whilst it may not be relevant to another engine, these are the figures I got from a Mk2/2.5 engine with these fitted and a Westfield 4-1 exhaust manifold: Power/Torque is at the wheels. They fit inside an FW bonnet, but you can either shorten the silicone joiners slightly to get them inside a standard bonnet or indeed lengthen them and have them poking outside. For reference, the Megasquirt plug and play ECU I used was four hundred pounds. If you were to find a set of GSXR throttle bodies, that little lot would set you back a good £600 even using some second hand parts. I'm thinking £300, but will listen to offers without taking offence.
Dommo Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 Bump... just dropped the price of these as I accepted an offer over on the MX5 forums but the guy pulled out.
Kyle Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Absolute bargain, can't believe this hasn't been snapped up yet.
Dommo Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 I'm not expecting them to sell on here - not enough MX5 SDVers with a mk2 engine! I'm amused by the time wasting going on on the MX5 forums though. They're scheduled to go on eBay tonight.
