John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
Don't get me wrong. Diffusers are well worth having but you have to think about other aspects as well if its air flow you are thinking about
Lawrie
Generally aerodynamic devices are just dead weight until you hit the ton, so don't really fit in with Westfields. I suspect there's more that can be done to reduce drag, which means underpans, rather than diffusers
Evo,s 7SE
mine has got flat floor tunnel flared side panels and diffuser and as well as keeping everything cleaner it does seem to feel the rear is more stable than before at higher speeds the gearbox is slightly hotter too there was also a noticeably difference at higher speeds the car will keep accelerating with no noticeable drop off whereas before it used to slow over 6500rpm in top now it goes right through to 7500
Rossins
Wow, thanks for the replies - lots to consider. My car has the gearbox tunnel covered in. Those of you that have got a completely flat floor area from nosecone back, how have you dealt with the gaps around the engine bay? Some photos of the underneath would be good. Thanks Simon
